SUMMARY:Geodiversity Landscape Visit to the Southern Fens including Chatteris Museum
DESCRIPTION:This is a chance for CGS members and other CGS volunteers to contribute to our geoconservation research. We will spend the day on the Fen Edge and southern part of the Fen Basin and Chatteris ‘island’. Includes a visit to Chatteris Museum for a ‘behind the scenes’ viewing of their fossil collection and exhibition on Fen drainage. We will then explore nearby to understand the formation of the fen basin\, evidence left by ancient rivers and marine incursions and ‘recent’ fen drainage. \nOpen to CGS Members and Volunteers only – Please email info@cambsgeology.org to register your interest. \n  \n
